Nothing has a greater influence on the quality of children’s sports than the excellence of the coach. The coaching staff at FAST consists of professionally trained coaches. They, as members of the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA), have access to the most comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches of any sport in the United States. Certified coaches in the U.S. swimming programs possess training and experience in the physiology and psychology of adolescent development. Our coaching staff provides the assurance that the time your children spend in swimming will be quality time.

Chris is in his first year as head coach at FAST.  He coaches Senior and Pre-Senior. Chris brings over 20 years of coaching and swimming experience to FAST.

 Chris coached at SwimMAC Carolina for 3 years. He had coached Senior I,II and Gold in the north region during his time at the club. He was also the north region's senior division lead coach. During his time at SwimMAC the team won the 2012 Long Course Junior Nationals, he coached multiple U.S. Olympic trial qualifiers, 2 Junior Pan Pacific Team members, and an Olympian from Bermuda.  

Chris coached at the Carmel Swim Club in Indiana where he most recently was the senior 2 head coach. Prior to becoming the senior 2 head coach Chris worked as an assistant to all senior athletes for the four previous years coaching two Olympic team trial qualifiers, two world championship trial qualifiers, and over 20 junior national qualifiers. 

Chris worked with the CSC Age Group Program as a head coach of two separate groups throughout his tenure. Chris was a Carmel High School coach from August of 2004 until coming to SwimMAC Carolina. The Carmel High School women’s team finished as the number one public school in the country in 2009 and set two national high school records.

Prior to 2004 Chris was a coach for Team Pittsburgh Aquatics where he coached multiple top 16 qualifies and LSC champions as the head age group coach and as a senior coach. The program produced multiple 2000 Olympic trial qualifiers, junior national champions, and high school state champions. During his time at Team Pittsburgh Chris served as a volunteer coach at the University of Pittsburgh Men’s team and helped lead the Panthers to five Big East Conference titles.

Chris is a Pittsburgh native.          

 

 

MacKenzie B Lindstrom

MacKenzie swam for Colorado State University on an athletic scholarships and graduated in 2008 with a degree in Interior Design. She swam competitively for 16 years in southern California and has been involved in the sport of swimming ever since.  Before joining FAST in 2010, she taught years of private lessons, coached for Poudre High School, Westfield Waves, and Vortex Swim Club.
She has recently receive the 2011 Doc Counsilman Award given by the American Swimming Coaches Association for creative and innovative workouts. MacKenzie is currently a level 2 ASCA member and has a certificate of dry-land training through ASCA.  MacKenzie coaches Gold I, Blue, and Senior 2.

Glee began competitive swimming at age 9 in Hawaii. She also swam for teams in Michigan, Kansas, Switzerland and the Marshall Islands. Swam for The University of Kansas 1976-1980. Was a captain her senior year and a student assistant to KU her 5th year.
Glee majored in Physical Education with an emphasis in Elementary and Coaching.
Glee began coaching at 19 years of age with the Lawrence Aquahawks. She continued with them for three summers. 1981-1983  Glee Taught Elementary and High School Physical Education classes, was the head coach of Hutchinson, Kansas YMCA and the High School Boys and Girls teams.
Glee was an age group coach and head coach for the Kwajalein, Marshall Islands swim team for seven years. An age group coach for the Boise YMCA team for 3 years.
Coached Collindale summer swim team in Fort Collins for five summers.
Head Coach for Fossil Ridge High School Girls team 2004-2005.
Coached with FAST January of 1998 to May 2011. Returned to FAST June of 2012.
2007 Northern Colorado Coach of the year.
                                                     

Amanda M Nerbovig

Amanda is originally from Seattle, Washington. She swam for the University of Idaho, she was Team Captain her junior year and graduated in 2010 with a B.A. in History. She started coaching right after graduation in Boulder, Colorado with Meadows Swim & Tennis Club, part of the BVSSL. With Meadows she coached the 9-10 age group for two seasons and the 13-14 group for one season. She also coached with Boulder Aquatics Masters and Flatirons Athletic Club.

 
Amanda is in her first season with FAST and is excited to be a part of the program.

Maggie comes to Fort Collins from the University of Pittsburgh.  She grew up in Manitou Springs but went to high school in Florida where she lettered with her high school team all four years as well as swam for the local USA Swimming Team, the Jupiter Dragons.  She has taught lessons for the past 4 years at the University of Pittsburgh to all ages and spent the past year working with many of the different groups of FAST . 


 

Courtney Kuehl

Courtney graduated from University of Arizona, with BA Arts Sciences Psychology and Vocal Studies degree. Courtney has been coaching for 5 years, starting out with the Tucson DeMont Family Swim School learn to swim program, and has since moved on to teaching lessons and developmental age group stroke work. Courtney's coaching skills best emphasize the excellence of competitive swim team, coming from a highly efficient age group/national team Irvine Novaquatics.

Competing at the Olympic Trials at the age of 14 in 2000, Courtney has been a part of the elite swimming community and learned from the best coaches in the world. While accepting a scholarship at the University of Arizona after racing for Irvine High school, Courtney swam multiple events at NCAA's and earned spots on relays, eventually becoming a 14-time All-American. Courtney also competed for Team USA in Spain, British Columbia, and Thailand.

Courtney married discus Olympic team runner-up Adam Kuehl in the Fall of 2011. Adam recently accepted a spot on CSU's Strength Staff to train Olympic sports which brought the couple to Fort Collins.

Courtney is very happy to accept the Assistant Coach position to work with Head Coach Chris Webb and the other FAST coaches to help develop an elite racing environment within Colorado.

Reu G Smith

Reu swam competitively for FAST while in junior high and high school.  He also competed for Rocky Mountain High School swim team and participated in club water polo throughout high school.  Reu now competes in triathlons and is active in the adult athletic community.  His passion is to help take people to the next level in their swim program, no matter where they are today.  Reu is the founder and president of rfi Marketing in Fort Collins. He coaches the Masters program for FAST.
