For the afternoon session, we need an announcer, a safety director, and a timing console operator.
  • The revised bylaws were passed and have been posted. Thank you for voting!
  • Results from the Longmont Silver Circuit meet have been posted.

May 9, 2006

  • If your family has not voted, we need your vote! Bylaws must be voted on by the general membership.
  • You can read the changes to the bylaws here. The proposed changes are side-by side written in red text.
  • If you have any questions, you can contact a FAST board member.

Here are some facts regarding the FAST bylaws:

  • The bylaws have not been changed since September of 2001 (at this time, the vote for the bylaws revision was taken at the Spring Banquet)
  • A bylaws revision was voted on at the FAST fall picnic in September 2004, but did not pass due to the large number of votes required. 2/3 of the membership participation are required to pass the bylaws and despite overwhelming votes in favor of the amendments, the vote did not pass because we didn't have enough total votes. This is why it is so important we have adequate numbers of participation on May 3rd.
  • The bylaws committee includes a technical writer and a lawyer and has sought input from FAST members, coaches, and seasoned FAST board members.
  •  In addition, The FAST bylaws committee HAS RESEARCHED SEVERAL SWIM CLUBS IN THE STATE OF COLORADO AS WELL AS GUIDELINES FROM USA SWIMMING IN REGARDS TO BYLAWS.  COUNTLESS HOURS HAVE GONE INTO THIS REVISION!!

  • An updated Meet Support schedule is posted for the FAST Spring Long Course Open, April 7-8.

The biggest benefit comes from a package deal-buying or selling ad space for our next 4 swim meet programs (dues reimbursement not disbursed until ads are paid in full). Restaurants and hotels are excluded. (Sorry, we already solicit heavily from local restaurants and hotels.) Our next meet is the FAST Spring Open April 7-8. To take full advantage of the dues reimbursement, the package deals should be sold in time for this meet!
You can still sell for the other meets, but the package deal offers the best return for you and for the advertiser. Contact Adam Hoffman HOFFMANCONSULTING@COMCAST.NET with questions. This is a great opportunity to help out your bank account and help FAST at the same time!!

  • Please have your swimmers take home their equipment from the cage area before spring break. The area is being cleaned and we don't want swimmers' equipment in the way or lost in the process! Make sure they take their own equipment and not someone else's by mistake. Have a great break!
