schedule.
-
It is time again for us to organize our
bulkhead moving schedule. As many of you know, EPIC does not allow
anyone under the age of 18 to move the bulkheads. We rely on parents
to help move the bulkheads for the Long Course practices. If you
have a swimmer in the white, blue, presenior or senior practice
groups, please plan to help a few times this summer. If everyone
helps a few times, then the work does not have to fall on a few
people! Please wear non-slip shoes. This is physical work and not
work for someone with back problems. Dads are preferred, but we have
had some Moms help in the past. The whole process takes about 20
minutes if all goes well.
The times are Monday nights at 7:45pm (presenior and blue
parents suggested), Tuesday mornings around 7:45am (presenior,
senior and white parents suggested), Thursday mornings at 5:15am
(presenior and senior parents suggested) Thursday mornings at
7:45am (presenior, senior, blue parents suggested).
Please respond with your requested times. You may contact Adam
Hoffman or Steve Howard with questions, hoffmanconsulting@comcast.net
or showard@howardfrancis.com
Thanks FAST Parents! We are thrilled to have the opportunity for our
swimmers to practice in one of the few Long Course pools in the
state! We couldn't do it without you!!!

you will be eligible for either a set of FAST warm-ups or a $35 gift
certificate to MI Sports. In addition, for every five letters
you write, your name will be entered into a drawing for one
of five $50 gift certificates.

following expenses: Video Equipment purchase, possible

AND your address list so you can come prepared to write 20-30
letters to friends and family asking them to pledge their support for
the swim-a-thon! In the past, some people find it easiest to print
out address labels, or, you can hand-write them. FAST will provide
all the letter writing supplies, including the letter that you, the
swimmer, signs. You can add a little personal note of course if you

Annual Swimathon
Look for more
details soon regarding our annual FAST Swim-a-thon, this year being
organized by the White practice group (all groups participate, the white
group will be organizing)!!! Fundraising is just as important to your
swim club as it is to any organization! By supporting the raffles, the
swim-a-thon, and helping at the swim meets, fundraising helps keep your
dues down as well as allowing FAST to continue to offer our swimmers the
best quality swimming program possible. Fundraising also allows the
community at large to participate in this great sport. This year, our
preparation party includes a tentative all-team breakfast on March 24th,
with the swimathon date TBA in April. Thanks for participating!

Silver Circuit and
New Parent Info
-
Don’t forget that
the best way to have your swimmer learn about competitive swimming is
by competing! Northern Colorado has a great opportunity for
developmental swimmers to learn about competing by attending the
Silver
Circuit Meets.
-
These are short,
fun, one-day meets! There is a
qualifying time
where a swimmer must be slower than the given time.
-
Even if your swimmer
might be too fast in one race, they can still race in any of the
events that they are slow enough for.
-
Ultimately, the swimmers want to make
Silver
State cuts, allowing them to compete at the Silver State Level.
This is usually the first step before making state cuts.
-
You can contact Glee
for more info too – see contact info above!
-
Another hint,
any swimmer from any group
that is slower than the qualifying times can swim in the Silver
Circuit Meets! Check with your coach if you are not
sure!!!
-
Don’t forget the next Silver Circuit
meet is December the 10th in Brighton.
Entries are due on Wed Dec 6th
